Please Help me Playtest.

So the GOAL , is to hold full RPG experiences on this blog. ‘Adventures’ if you like,wehre YOU the Player can interact via comments and/or Twitter. The fantasy story comic will be based on the Adventure.*

Why YOU should play?!

Scene:

It’s complicated.

Yolo, Jot and Ella were trying to escape the Turned Paladin when a Band of Goblin Crowriders ‘dropped in’ via the tower roof. Yolo and The Paladin are forced to team up, to fend off the goblins challange. Andrik the Paladin leads a charge but quickly finds himself outclassed in a Real Fight.

Ella is hiding under a table.

Jot tries to find a way out while the goblins are distracted and almost gets clubbed from the back!

Yolo, comes to the rescue.

YOLO:Puts down his sword and jabs the goblin in the face

JOT:Flies into a mad rage and attacks the goblins

JOT:Looks to his gear for a solution

JOT looks inwardly for a solution

..then what?

Speak as any of the characters by leaving a comment, (e.g” JOT: ‘I don’t like goblins’”)

It’s 1am and I’m running on 4 hours of sleep. i wouldn’t have been able to finish the inking so instead of trying to rush the inks, I thought I’d show you the pencils first. This is the beginning ofthe whole fight scene, I’ve choreographed it to it’s end, but will be willing to take any suggestions on what to throw into the fight scene. 

The caption I had for these strips go something like this:

“Perfect form, for a class”

“Unfortunatly this is not a class exercise”

It needs some polish so you’re suggestions are more than welcome=)

Notes:

1. I normally pencil very loosely and decide on many details in inking. Today’s pencils are tighter than usaual, maybe this will be the new usual
2. Andrik’s left hand needs some work in the charging panel, so i’ll do some sketches of that before inking
3. Sleeping on the pencils allows me to bring more quality to the artwork the next day.

This is my first post featuring the new iphone or psp friendly format strips. That means the dimensions fit an iphone or psp. On htose formats this wouldn’t be called a strip or a page, but a screen. So heres the first comic screen! The previous posts are being formatted to fit the screens a well. One way or another I’ll get these comics into your portable device =) Hope you’re enjoting the story.

Some News:

1. It’s late, so i’ll try to keep it brief.

2. I am currently reformatting Fantasy story, to fit into a minicomic book to sell at a local comic con.

3. I am also formatting Fantasy Story for the iphone and hope to break into that market:)

4. I’ve written ‘beats’ for issue 1 and 2 of fantasy story… that is to say I know whats going to happen, in what order.

5. I will be moving the comic to FantasyStoryComic.com , i’ll keep this place as a blog.

6. I will be adding ‘inbetween’ strips to make the story flow smoother.

8. I will be changing the format of the strip sligtly, you might not notice, it doesn’t matter.

9. Do leave comments on the characters , the story, and your experience of reading the comic.

Happy Thanks Giving Americans! I’m thankful for all of you reading… in fact i’m thankful to anyone reading this.

I’ve fallen behind on my posting, but a good chat with a couple of fans persuaded me to use the time and energy it would take to make excueses for not posting, to draw a strip instead. Good Advice. 

As always you can leave a comment to influence the story.

I’m trying to be a bit over creative and over ambitous here, maybe. Comic strips tend to be a little choppy. Comic books well tent to flow better. When I collect the comic strips into a book, I will try to smoothen the edges and add a new layer to the story, figuratively speaking:) This way the experience of reading the strip will be a different experience from reading the book. (what follows is how this comic might recombine in a book format)

What do you think? apart from the fact that i still need to work on the colouring…

NOTE: if you’re wondering what’s MAYA in the strip above (I’m telling even if you’re not wondering) it’s, Sanskrit for shadow or veil, it’s the cloudiness that keeps a person from doing what’s right. Less Maya is better. Anything above half the total value of maya makes the character a generally bad person, a person with less than half maya is generally good.

As I walked the dogs today, i got pretty excited about how things are going with the comic.
