Fantasy Story BETA 1 : Crossroads - 13
Â
As our hero begins his adventure, so do we. This is the first Fantasy Story Comic Strip. I will try to do 1-3 strips a week. Eventually I will like to publish regularly on specific days. But before I commit to which days, lets experiment abit.
Here’s where you can live out your comic making fantasies (and you won’t need to lift a pencil)
Â
On Comments:
Lets try something a little different here, instead of leaving a comment saying ‘that’s grealovelywonderful’, why don’t you try to suggest or guess how the story will unfold. As it is, we have a nameless character, presumably beginning some quest. Who or what will he meet, where is he going, what will happen after another 40 strips?
The story will go on regardless of whether I receive comments or not, but I feel and interesting turn of plot or two is on the cards. Looking forward to drawing your ideas*
*I appreciate every comment, but I may not necessarily use every idea right away. And when the story has progressed, you’re still invited to leave your comments on older strips.
Okay it’s your turn, ready…GO!

this comic strip will be about the morning that never came.
(!!!!!!)
it describes a series of events which happened in the night blending between sleep and wake as our hero soon discovers there are choices he must make for ELAE village to be saved… with or without him.

Thanks, Khailee, I was thinking more of a quiet walk in the woods:)
but you’re suggestion did point something out to me and that is for the need of urgency, and a sense of danger…

Hi!
Great to hear from you guys. Here’s my 2 cents.
Your art style suggest something that is surreal. I would suggest you go along with it. Keep the character nonchalant and simple while dealing with complicated scenario.
Below are my suggestion for the next few panels:
The character needs a motivation to to explore. Give him that reason. I would say, in the next few panels, have him dream of the reasons that he left his village to travel. Personally, I would draw something like he found a horseshoe with an inscription ‘Pon’ (or anything that you like). After asking around his village, he found that nobody has a horse by that name (not now or in the past).
Being a curious person at heart, he is determined to find out where the horseshoe came from. So he pack up and decided to go to the next village/ town to ask.
Why he stray off the main road…well…
(oh…also consider keeping his vocab simple and minimal to keep up his image of simplicity. i think cute gesture convey more in this kind of art style.)
just my thought.
keep me posted.

Mons says, he’s hungry, sounds like my kinda story: simple, but not obvious
Chin yew Says he’ll meet creatures - what kind of creature? anybody?
Boon Han has an interesting view on the mood, and feel of the strip, and that kinda resonates with me, I think it’s a good idea to keep both the art and the vocab simple
Thanks everyone for you input, I’ve already though of some ways to imput all your feedback into the story as it progresses.
Keep it coming in, there are no outsiders, all it takes is a comment to make this your story too:)

He meets a very lost penguin?
He is hungry. He catches a rabbit. The rabbit says “don’t eat me, I know a secret…”

Jen, thanks for that lovely bit of dialogue… and i’m very tempted to use it in a strip 6…
also for anyone who doesn’t know, Jen has a blog, and it’s got penguins…and comics.

As he Awakens he realizes that the world he lives in has changed, subtle differences at first but diffeences just the same, didn’t that river flow west to east instead of east to west.. small differences at first but then as he goes on…..

When I read your comic, it makes me think about what I would do. I feel like the character. I would probably sleep before I made a decision about what path I wanted to take. I don’t like those dark shady woods, and those mountains look hard to climb.
