Fantasy Story 13: JOT - 5

In case you’re wondering, yes, this is a comic strip. Read the first comic strip here. And come back for more every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If you enjoy the strip, i’ve quite a few things to tell you about, do read on:)

NOTE: if you’re wondering what’s MAYA in the strip above (I’m telling even if you’re not wondering) it’s, Sanskrit for shadow or veil, it’s the cloudiness that keeps a person from doing what’s right. Less Maya is better. Anything above half the total value of maya makes the character a generally bad person, a person with less than half maya is generally good.

As I walked the dogs today, i got pretty excited about how things are going with the comic.

Yay.

We’ve now come to the end of act 2. Act 1 being the start of Jot’s Journey, till he makes a friend. And act 2 being, the events that lead to the ‘death’ of his friend. Now he’s got a bit of a mess to get out off, which will be act 3.

A COMIC BOOK?

These 3 acts will make up chapter 1. Which then goes to print as a (self published) mini comic. I’ll take this opportunity to fine tune the story, adding panels and even pages to tell the story more clearly. It will be an epic of a mini comic book, and i’ll try to pack it with extras, and hold nothing back on the cover art. I’m excited.

A new web page.

It’s still some time coming, but i’d just like you to know that I’ve bought a new domain: FantasyStoryComic.com, the site will be designed mainly to create a better reading environment for the webstrip. Do feel free to suggest features that you might like to see in Fantasy Story’s new home!

Now back to the story!

We’ve been making up this story as we go, almost a strip at the time. I think we can try something bigger.

We’re now in act 3 and there’s alot that’s going to happen from here to the end of the chapter. How will it all resolve? Fantasy Story is a reader collaborative story, it got to where it is now because of you, now how will this chapter end?

I’ll leave you with some prompts, let me know your thoughts in the comments? I look forward to making the next strip based on them.

[Goblin Party] Will the goblins, set a trap and wait for the adventurers to come out? Will they try to get in the tower? And what about the troll circling the tower, will he manage to avoid the encamped dwarves?

[Jot] Out of his depth, and filled with emotion how will he react to possible trechery and the ‘death’ of his furry companion?

[Elle] Does she look out for herself and leave? or does she feel a need to stay with Jot?

[Yolo] Has betrayed his master, but how far will he go? What is the Hoglim capable of?

[Andrik] – I’ll leave this to you…

[The Dwarves] arrive in the morning, they will be looking for hog to eat, but they will be diplomatic as dwarves can be, but will ther be anyone left to be diplomatic to?

How will this chapter end? Who will prevail, and who else will fall?

Hiya!

Loved the comic webstrip up to now! And since I play world of Warcraft I can finally contribute so here goes!

[Goblin Party] – The encamped dwarves hear the breaking of a twig and rush to find the circling troll and begin to fight it! The goblin party joins in!
[Jot] – Well he will initially accuse Andrik of intentionally poisoning the food and in turn killing his furry friend!
[Elle] – She will rush to Jot’s furry friend holding him in his arms crying.
[Yolo] – Actually he has been working with the goblins a short time ago to help catch Elle after learning of her theft.
[Andrik] – He will draw his sword and demand an explanation from Yolo!
[The Dwarves] arrive in the morning and help the encamped dwarves fit the troll and goblin party.

I’ll post here if I get anymore ideas

Yolo was the one who addded stykberries to the roast, Andrik always prepare his own meal for he doesn’t really trust Yolo. Andrik was distracted by the sudden arrival of visitors and had let his guard down, with his meal preparations. Stykberries, does not kill, the poison will immobilise anyone for sometime, depending on the amount taken and size of the victim. But too much of it may kill small, furry creatures. ( Elle has potion, capable of reviving small, furry creature? )
Reason Yolo wanted to momentarily paralyse the paladdin is ……to free his friend, Doomorflapper, locked up in the dungeon. Yolo waited a long time for this opportunity.
