This strip was fun to draw, it was a turn of pace from the previous strip. There is alot of expaining to do from this point on. The challange will be to keep the visuals interesting while all this goes on.
This was the most difficult strip to draw so far, it also took the longest to complete. I was more adventures with the layout of the artwork within the panels.
I mentioned some changes in yesterday’s post. Here’s the strip as it will appear in the papers. It’s a new format, and it was fun to draw in different panel sizes. I also tried to make the story telling tighter by writing the strip in a comic equivalent of a full sentence. Some of you might also notice that I’ve re-started the count as 1. Well consider everything before this as beta.
If you ‘click to continue’ you will see a different layout of the same strip.
This coming week will introduce a new Character to the Fantasy Story cast. She doesn’t have a name yet, and I’m optimistically hoping you might want to name her, by leaving a comment
It’s great to have started this. It’s only been 4 strips, but I have already learnt so much. I guess it’s true we really learn by doing. I’m going to be very careful about making any promises about what I will do with this strip in the future, because I don’t want to go back on my words later. But there are some things that I feel I should address quickly.
“Just so you know, Fantasy Story is a Reader Collaborative story, that means, you can leave comments, and that shapes the story… give it a try:)”
Commentry:
The idea is to post 3 panels at the time, but I needed the extra space for the first panel and had to make it double sized. So there’s actually 4 panels worth of comics here!
As our hero begins his adventure, so do we. This is the first Fantasy Story Comic Strip. I will try to do 1-3 strips a week. Eventually I will like to publish regularly on specific days. But before I commit to which days, lets experiment abit.
Here’s where you can live out your comic making fantasies (and you won’t need to lift a pencil)
